MTurk is a website of Amazon web services and has been around since 2005 . It is a crowdsourcing online marketplace with millions of users worldwide(more than 190 countries) .There are 2 kind of people at MTurk –Requester – Requesters are those who post Jobs known as HIT’s (Human Intelligence Tasks) such as Categorize questions , find address of someone , image tagging or choose best among several pictures etc. A requester review the work submitted by the worker and on the basis of his satisfaction , he approves the work.Workers- also called Turkers sometime . Workers complete the jobs posted by requesters and submit proof to get paid.Its real easy to make money at Mturk because you will get a lot of odd jobs there which requires either little or no skill.

This site is free to join for everyone around the world who is interested in writing ,translation, research, collecting data etc. As a clickworker you work independently , you set your own working hour and you get to choose the assignment you are interested in.The simple tasks such as picture classification and questions categorization don’t require any formal qualifications so everyone can complete such tasks .For other tasks where special skills are required , you have to prove your qualification by taking assessments . Now you can also complete Pollfish, Adscend and Peanut Labs surveys there like many other platforms.

Rapidworkers is a service of UnikScripts, Inc. . Their website is pretty much similar to the Microworkers and has almost same features and working interface although the site is not so professional looking and lake some essential features. Microworkers is a crowd sourcing website owned by Weblabcenter, Inc. and have more than 700000 workers worldwide. Employers can create professional looking campaign using Microworkers template. The only and worst thing about Microworkers is their address verification procedure for the first withdrawal .

After joining , you will get a lot of tasks available to choose from that match your skills the best. Some of examples tasks are – Search and Click, Sign up ,Like a Facebook page or Download an android app etc. They send Payment twice a week.

Shorttask (Update – It’s a big Scam)
Shorttask is pretty much similar to the Mturk in term of user-interface. One who posts jobs is called “Seeker” and who completes the tasks is called “Solver”. ShortTask has over 125,000 workers and more than 5000 Seekers in its database. Have heard a lot of bad thing about this site but I am fine with this site so far , if anything bad happens I will let you know about. Give it a try and let us know your experience through comments .You must meet the minimum withdrawal amount to get paid and the withdrawal limit is Just $10 now only.
Note – I have tried it. Like most other people, I too didn’t get my Money. Don’t Join it.

9. Crowdflower (Now figure-eight)


Cloudflower/Figure-Eight is another popular micro jobs site with 5 million contributors from 208 countries. Contributors are the people who completes the tasks. Clowdflower is somewhat similar to the Crowdsource.com in terms of user interface and nature of tasks. You get instructions before accepting a task. You can pass different tests to prove your skills and to access more work. The tasks you get here usually related to these categories – content moderation, data collection and enhancement, data categorization, sentiment analysis etc.

The website is not too old but is currently paying to its workers. The interface is very similar to Microworkers and Rapidworkers. You make money by completing tasks posted by employers. I don’t how it would do in the future but it has all the potential to become a good crowd sourcing platform. They take about 7 days to process withdrawal request. It would be worth mentioning that you get $2 for just signing up which you can only use for posting your own tasks.
